The use of antibiotics in animals in factory farms totally should be regulated. I think it is awful to use antibiotics to make the animals bigger. Its like getting implants or collagen to have more food. Its fake! On the website it talks about using the antibiotics to help prevent diseases, which could be a nice thought, but I am pretty sure most people are using the antibiotics to make the animals bigger so they make more money.
I also think it is not cool because this whole idea is not only harming the animals, but it is making us humans ill as well. Where is the benefit then? I really hope this antibiotic thing gets regulated or even completely gotten rid of. Leave the animals alone and just make them natural!

I agree. I would rather eat/drink untreated meat/milk than food treated with antibiotics. We hear all the time from doctors to not use so many antibiotics when we think we should have some. My concern is that we are creating resistance in the animals and then any real illness is difficult to treat because of mutation.
ReplyDeleteI think that it's sad what society has done to the treatment of these animals. The website claims that they use antibiotics for growth promotion, so that they can produce more meat and milk and make more profit. It's just ridiculous that they would expose these animals to this posing a threat to both them and to us.
ReplyDeleteNot only that but giving them antibiotics could generate mutations, like Ramona said, who knows what this could potentially cause.
I definitely agree with you that most of the farmers nowadays they use the antibiotics to make their animals bigger> and I think if we eat a lot of the animals that have those antibiotics we will get that effects and that is also one reason that nowadays more and more people would be fat or overweight.!
